Vale Kate Jennings

Rochford Street Review was saddened to hear of the death of Kate Jennings in New York on 1 May this year. Jennings’ ground breaking collection of poems, Come to Me My Melancholy Baby, and her editing of one of the first major anthology of Australian feminist poetry,anthology, Mother I’m Rooted, (both published by (Outback Press in 1975), were critical in highlight the diversity of the emerging new poetry movement in Australia during the 1970s. 

Rochford Street Review will aim to publish a longer tribute to Jennings over the coming weeks.
