P76 Issue 9. Caroline Silas – A note to the world

A note to the world

I am taking root in the soil of memories, freely absorbed by observers. I am the protagonist across different times and places. As I grow, I take on various forms, perhaps why their gazes fix on my evolution, on what I absorb. My journey is always hungry; I probe the state until I reach the people. I am deliberate in choosing my new environments, knowing they will endure in oblivion.

If you scrutinize my surroundings closely, you’ll see my veins—the veins of violence. I am a skilled performer.

I am deeply curious; I could represent the future, always reminding generations that culture is built through movements, and many fail to withstand the pressures that mold their values. I highlight my living conditions, whether alone or within my collective. I admit, I can be repetitive. The colonial logic becomes evident as I traverse borders, revealing myself without mystery on the map.

I navigate the currents of exchange, meeting contemporaries in the age of 5G. I persist in my cartographic submissions; this place in the world belongs to me. I am attuned to the social issues for which I bear responsibility, carrying historical implications that extend beyond the limits of my decay.

Sincerely,

Afro-Brazilian.
