P76 issue 9: Poetries of place/ displacement/ diaspora/ odyssey was launched as part of the 2024 Sonic Poetry Festival on Tuesday evening 27 August 2024 at Bergy Bandroom, Brunswick, Victoria.
Mark Roberts is a writer, critic and publisher living on unceded Darug and Gundungurra land. He is co-editor, along with Linda Adair, of Rochford Street Review. His last poetry collection, Concrete Flamingos, was published by Island Press in 2016. His next collection, The Office of Literary Endeavours, will be published by 5 Islands Press in 2025.
Linda Adair is a poet and a publisher of Rochford Press, and co-editor of Rochford Street Review and a (re)emerging artist.
Angela Costi is known as Αγγελικη Κωστη among the Cypriot diaspora, which is her heritage and ancestry. She lives on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung unceded land. She is the author of five poetry collections. Her most recent chapbook is Adversarial Practice, Cordite Poetry Review, 2024.
Brent Cantwell is a New Zealand-born poet who writes, teaches and lives with his family in the hinterland of Queensland’s Gold Coast. He has recently been published in Jacaranda Journal, Westerly Magazine and Takahe. His first collection of poetry ether was published by Recent Work Press in October 2023.
Caterina Mastroianni is an Italian-born Australian poet and educator raised in Port Kembla and Wollongong, on the land of the Wadi Wadi people of the Dharawal nation. She has published poetry in various literary magazines and four Australian anthologies, most recently in Live Encounters Poetry and Writing, Burrow, and Poetry for the Planet: An Anthology of Imagined Futures . She lives in Sydney on the land of the Cadigal and Wangal people of the Eora nation.
Scott-Patrick Mitchell was Highly Commended in the 2024 Blake Poetry Prize and was a 2022 Red Room Poetry Felowship. Their debut poetry collection Clean (Upswell Publishing, 2022) was shortlisted for The Prime Minister’s Literary Awards, The WA Premier’s Book Awards and The Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards. SPM is a queer non-binary immigrant who lives and writes on Whadjuk Noongar Country.
Glen Hunting is a poet based in Mparntwe, Arrernte country (Alice Springs, NT). Among other things, he writes about notions of home, estrangement, and cultural value, and the hopes and frustrations surrounding reciprocity, allyship, and empowerment. His poetry has been published or is forthcoming in Verandah, Plumwood Mountain, Blue Bottle Journal, Portside Review, London Grip New Poetry, and elsewhere. He received a 2024 Varuna/Arts NT residential fellowship and was joint winner of the 2024 Liquid Amber Emerging Poet Prize.
Louise Oxley’s two collections are Compound Eye, commended in the Anne Elder award, and Buoyancy, shortlisted in the Western Australian Premier’s Literary Awards. Awards for individual poems include the Bruce Dawe, Melbourne Poets Union and Shoalhaven poetry prizes.
