verdigris patina
copper carbonate

she was wearing
…………a black pencil skirt
…………accentuating her hour
…………glass figure
…………and her shirt was
…………made of bamboo fibre
…………that had a velvety sheen

 

he was wearing stovepipe pants
…………being a guitarist
…………in a retro band
…………driving a matt black Fairlane

they met

an illuminated billboard screamed
a kind of slogan
too self-conscious to be
easily hijacked
…………because of
…………the use of plants
…………in an eco-friendly manner

the word ‘Minnesota’ occurs to me
…………it’s that random Americanisation
…………again

but could be the cool of Italy
if you’re not Italian
